Nebo

Strategically situated at the crossroads of the main south-to-north track and the east-to-west track (now known as Peak Downs Highway).

The township of Nebo is located approximately midway between the coastal city of Mackay and the major coal mining town of Moranbah. Strategically situated at the crossroads of the main south-to-north track and the east-to-west track (now known as Peak Downs Highway), sitting on the banks of Nebo creek, the town has a rich history. Nebo was originally established as Fort Cooper and was only renamed to Nebo in 1923. Although the township itself is considered a 'small town', Nebo encompasses quite a large community of surrounding livestock properties and coal mining regions. Sitting on the banks of Nebo creek, the town has a rich history.

There is a local State Primary School, community pool, general store and Post Office, Bowls Club and the historic Nebo Hotel, just to name a few amenities available to the local Residents.
